Facilitating IIIF input

• Allmaps actually as post-processing step, encourages use of non-georeferenced maps

With non-georeferenced there is the inside map/outside map/border/vertex/inset ISSUE.

For non-georeferenced maps, change task to object detection to avoid issues with partial patches, borders etc.
This allows input from collections that don't have tile servers to get the idea or set in motion tasks for maps that are in the process of being georeferencing.

Import of maps using IIIF/Allmaps

Thoughts from March workshop w/Bert & Gethin convo

1. Create a IIIF Manifest (or IIIF Collection) that holds a selection of maps (or a single map) (or use an existing IIIF Manifest or IIIF Collection)
2. Read a IIIF Resource from a server and use Bert’s IIIF parser to parse the IIIF data and output the image details and metadata
3. Draw a mask/selection on the images, removing the border. Or create an image processing algorithm that does this!!! You can save the shape mask in a Georeference Annotation (a Georeference Annotation with just a mask but without GCPs is still a valid Georeference Annotation).
4. Run MapReader! (or use Huggingface to test models)
5. Use Allmaps to convert the resulting pixel coordinates of the labels to geospatial coordinates.
