I want autocomplete on mentions and GitHub issues!! Custom LSP? How hard can it be?

Typing mention names wrong is a major pain point. See Mention capitalisation differences lead to multiple conflicting HTML outputs #63.
Editor (vim) autocomplete can help matching names to mentions in the same doc, but not project wide.
An LSP can be used by any editor, i.e. not just a vim plugin.
