enable_node ? syntax ? sorry marshmallow mode here!

dont see anything documenting the syntax or variables for enable_node

i added , and guessing, the doc says enable node and give it a name
enable_node = Yes
node_name = SomeName

can you please enlighten us ?

You guessed right :) I can see that it is not totally easy to find it, but it is documented in the "Guide -> Hosting a Node" section within the program. I'll make sure to include some examples directly in the config for the next release!

In general, all boolean config values can be any of: Yes, No, True, False, yes, no, true, false

so further to that, something then doesnt appear right, under my config posted below:
Ive added those variables, however after starting nomadnet and going to nodeinfo it states
"This instance is not hosting a node"

Ah, you have to put the config related to node-hosting in the nomadnet config file! It is located in: ~/.nomadnet/config

Have you taken a look at the " [ Config ] " button in the program? If you click that, it will show you a screen telling you that the program configuration can be edited in the configuration file, and the current full path to where the configuration file is stored specifically on your system :)

There is also button titled "< Open Editor >", which will open an editor directly inside the nomadnet program, where the configuration file can be edited. Either way works, and it's just a matter of taste what you'd like.

Also, the first time the program is started, the "First Run" guide is displayed. If you read this guide, you will also be told the above few points ;)

While it is in no way perfect or complete yet, the " [ Guide ] " section of the program does already contain a lot of information on how everything works. It should answer most questions, but most definitely not all yet. If you discover anything that is not documented there, or have suggestions for better ways to word things, or new sections, any additions and contributions are very welcome!

yeah i got node host up, as for the editor button it doesnt like vi, ill try others. so far, making progress! feels like it might be good for messaging and things over mesh and satellite comms!

Good to hear! Yes, it's a little wonky with some editors, might be better just to edit it externally. Plan is to have an actual interface in the program, but for now the editor it is :)
