[MaterialDatePicker] Clicks on arrows for navigating between months ignored when done in rapid succession

On the theme of efficiency of data entry for date selection: When user wants to navigate to a date several months in the past or the future, and clicks on the arrows rapidly to do so, every second click is ignored, because clicks are only taken into account once the animation finishes. The swipe gesture does not suffer from this, but is demanding more effort.
Problem can be observed both in current release 1.12.0 and when building the app from master branch.
