Context

Since v2.1.1 backwards compatibility in iOS versions <= 16.x is broken as seen in below screenshots

Current Behavior

Running Materialize >= 2.1.1 in iOS <= 16.x results in a SyntaxError which results in not loading the specific library, as a result, Materialize functionality is not loading/working

Expected behavior

Materialize should work with the latest versions with a minimal backwards compatibility of a specific number of versions

Possible Solutions or Causes

Versions to 2.1.0 seem to be working with in iOS 12.x to 17.x, however, since 2.1.1 support dropped to only support the latest versions of iOS (>= 17.x)

Steps to reproduce

No response

Your Environment

  • Version used: 2.0.3 to 2.2.1
  • Browser Name and version: Safari
  • Operating System and version (desktop or mobile): iOS 12.x to 17.x
