This is a recurring conversation so wanted to document some of it.

Some places this was talked about:

The current proposal is:

  • Rename synapse.storage.data_stores to synapse.storage.databases
  • Rename Database to DatabasePool

We would still have DataStore classes that make up a database (e.g. database.state or database.main).

It sounds like no one has made complaints about this and it is the current plan.
