Our trust in God influences others to trust in Him

(Genesis 24:37-44)

This story’s events could lead to thinking wrongly that God will bless our path if only we ask Him to do so. But God’s plans are not always ours. Abraham was confident that this was the Lord’s plan and He would bless it (24:40), but he also was open to a different ending (24:41). Abraham stepped out in faith, as he did his entire life, but he made no demands upon God. This openness to the rightness of God’s will is the hallmark of believing faith.
