• syntax: "<string>" is supported in Firefox now but the PR for spec update has not yet landed

The <string> syntax descriptor is shipping in stable versions of Firefox and Safari. Chrome is also shipping as of today <https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/blink-dev/c/ZJIHKcr62Q4>, so the waiting for implementations and on hold labels no longer apply, AFAICT.
