Hypotheses

• We believe that: providing an online resource with information about participatory methods for science
• Will: provide a resource for drylands scientists to incorporate such methods into their work
• We will know we are right when: we see site visits increase; we see our methods being used in research proposals; we hear from scientists that the site is useful

Assumption: the reason drylands scientists do not use participatory methods in their current work is because they lack access to easy information about how to do it.

• We believe that: providing an online resource with information about participatory methods for science that links drylands scientists to researchers in participatory methods
• Will: increase the number of collaborations between drylands scientists and participatory researchers
• We will know we are right when: participatory researchers who contribute the site report more connections made through the site

Assumption: the reason drylands scientists do not collaborate with participatory researchers is because they don't know any.

• We believe that: connecting participatory researchers with drylands scientists
• Will: result in research that connects/interacts more with end users of the environment
• We will know we are right when: we see research and policies that reference stakeholder feedback; local people report relative satisfaction with suggested research outcomes/policy implementations

Assumptions

• Current freely available resources on participatory methods aren't meeting the need of drylands scientists (ie, we need to build up and write content)
