When following the documentation (link here ) on a classical python file, I encounter a problem when I want to visualize the active template model.
Here is the exception:
self.kernel = get_ipython().kernel AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'kernel'
The solution I found simply consists in checking the get_ipython() state before accessing the kernel attribute, something like that :
self.kernel = get_ipython().kernel if get_ipython() else None
instead of the existing code (l. 5009 of the menpowidgets/options.py file, direct link solves the issue.
