I am a graphic designer/print publisher building an NFT publishing sherpa service

I make digital art, so am very excited about the utility and possibilities of DLT to create a more evenly distributed market for both creators and collector/investors in which working artists can have a sustainable livelihood and retail collectors can get investment value acquiring and trading digital assets

I come to Dragon Quest because my vision exceeds the limits of my individual capacity to build out that that vision

PART 1 – NotAPaperClip (NAP) VR NFT Swap-Meet

I am working at developing an NFT to NFT swap concept. The basis of the idea is "The Straw Millionaire" tale from Buddhist folklore. In response to his prayers, Kannon the Goddess of mercy tells a poor peasant to pick up the first thing he sees and it will make him a millionaire. He picks up a straw, he then swaps the straw for a... and so forth until he becomes a millionaire. There is a similar story from 2005 in the US where a guy swaps one red paperclip for a pen... a Kiss concert... and ends up with a house.

One could argue that many NFTs have little more value than a straw, meanwhile as the value of ETH increases people may be reluctant to exchange ETH for a less secure in value NFT. However people do love to trade and also fantasize about being millionaires. I thought it would be a catchy idea to create a project based around swapping NFTs directly.

I'll set up an event and invite interested collectors to purchase my NotAPaperclip NFT v1 "exhibitor ticket" Holders of the NFT will be given permission to "hang'" 10 x NFTs they wish to trade in a nominated gallery space.

I am working on a Wordpress website with a page for each NFT trade intent, each with the Airswap.io widget embedded to be pre-populated with the exhibitors NFT "Take offer" NFT, If a Swap-Meet player wants to "Make offer" the swap, they will hit a link below the NFT in the CryptoVoxels gallery which brings up the trade and fill in the you'll send field.

This example is pre-populated with a WETH amount but for the Swap-Meet is about NFTs

If for example you were to swap to similar value CryptoVoxel parcels using Opensea you would have to pay 0.025% twice with counter-party risk that's at least 0.15eth, so I would price my participatory NAPv1 NFT at approx 0.3eth

The event will likely be a 24hr one day event to take in the international timezones, there will be an event Discord channel for participants to horse trade

Part 2 – I plan to expand the project

For the participant NFT I have adopted Magritte's surrealist trope "Ceci n'est pas un pipe" that a painting of a thing is not the thing. I love that the painting is called "The treachery of images”, a play on the absurdity of tokenisation; that indeed NFTs are a nothing. It is unlikely anyone will become a millionaire by swapping NFTS, but we can dream and we can has a leaderboard, perhaps along the lines of Andrew Paker's nasty virus https://anallergytoanalogy.github.io/pathogen/

I wish to develop a game model. A dual token system. You begin the game by receiving* the NotAPaperclip V2 ERC721 token, you find an NFT you want to swap for (it could be an NFT you hold in another wallet) at the tx event the NAP token contract generates a “marker/participant token” in your wallet and you receive your first token in the swap chain to this wallet address. The Marker token is a non-tradable token (though it will have a burning mechanism in the contract). The dApp will log all the subsequent NFT to NFT trades from this initial trade (made from this wallet addy). A swap for ETH would be cashing out of the game. Rank on the Leaderboard is established through having the longest chain of swaps from the original NotAPaperclip V2. A value of cash-out leaderboard could also be maintained.

The leaderboard is gameable with people dog-fooding their chain, just as wash trades occur in the NFT market, but as all tx are transparent and the result is purely bragging rights, this is not a big issue.

There will not be Lambos, I believe this project will stimulate increased liquidity in NFT collection economy and consequently increase the value of NFTs. Outside the NAP project it will also promote NFT to NFT swap trades, so that for example CryptoVoxel parcel owners can secure adjoining blocks trustlessly.

• I imagine the NAP Token would be distributed freely, but then when it becomes wildly popular, I will review

** An option would be for premium features like an ERC988 wrapper or OpenSea style bundling so that people could participate in the chain by offering a bundle of lower value NFTs for a high value NFT – a NotaPaperclip TokenClip ._
