metaboard in 3D

Imagine someone is giving a lecture and introduces the torus. They draw a diagram on the board and then decide it would be easier to draw it in 3D, so they step away from the 2D board, put down their "personal board volume" and start to draw the torus in 3D (probably they are in VR, this seems harder to do well using 2D tools).
