Would be great if timer could make use of the menu bar instead of having an always open window.

I can help here, @michaelvillar will you accept pull requests?

Yes for sure. A few recommendations:

  • have a setting to enable it
  • disabled by default
  • support for dark menu bar

Any update for this?
That'll be a quality of life.

I'm also thinking, wishing if the menu bar widget can:

  • Show with icon of different colors for running/paused/stopped state, and with countdown-time text.
  • popup menu-item to quick restart / pause / stop the timer
  • popup menu-item to quick run some preset time-length timer, like 25m, 15m, 5m.
    • (would be better to be configurable, each can be paired with selected ending sound, and icon color.)
    • (And the menu should also be avail for the main window context-menu)
  • popup menu-item to quick open the main window
    • (maybe left-click to open main window, while right-click to popup menu-items described above, as they are like options)
