poll-stage and poll-interval configurations ignore (polling is always on and interval is 1 second)

Since about July 2023 we had the option of having the stage constantly checking its position (see #856). This was a device option named pool-stage and the default was False. Then in fd85aae (August 2023) this was moved to the macroStage window. However, this dropped the check for the poll-stage option so it is always enabled. It also dropped the check for poll-interval which is now always 1 second.
