Microsoft PowerToys version

0.35.0

Running as admin

Area(s) with issue?

Installer

Steps to reproduce

Run PowerToysSetup-035.0-x64.exe
(Windows 8.1 - Running as Admin has no effect - also tried previous release.)

✔️ Expected Behavior

The software to be installed without a hitch.

❌ Actual Behavior

First I had an error message saying the program can't start because api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-1.dll is missing, which I fixed by downloading a copy and putting it in the same folder as the installer. I then got a similar error for api-ms-win-core-file-l1-2-2.dll which I was also able to remedy in the same way.

However I now get an error message saying:

Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point WaitForMultipleObjects could not be located in the dynamic link library D:\Downloads\PowerToys\PowerToysSetup-035.0-x64.exe.

I assumed I might be missing a prerequisite of some kind, so tried installing Visual C++ and .NET cores (which is probably a wild stab in the dark), but to no avail.

Other Software

No response

as stated in readme, PowerToys requires Windows 10 version 1903 or higher https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys#requirements
