formula graphs inside PowerToys Run #22686
Comments
How do you plan to render the graphs? |
I would just have the power toys Run open the calculator app with the entered equation in the first function box. |
Can you direct link like this via calc? To me the ideal would be the inline graph but then link off to calc's graphing. If the pattern isn't something like that, it feels like an unneeded step, just go to calculator. |

Description of the new feature / enhancement
In the "PowerToys Run" feature you use "=" to input calculator equations. It would be nice to have
"~~"
signify a graphing calculator equation since it resembles a Sine or Cosine wave. I used"~~"
because one "~" navigates to the user's home folder. using "g:" to graph could also work. doing "~~y=x^2, x=2" would not graph anything, but would solve the function (y=x^2) for the given value (x=1), which in this case would be 1^2 which equals 1.Scenario when this would be used?
User presses "Alt + Space" to open "PowerToys Run"
Enters "~~" or "g:" to start the function
Types in their desired graphing equation such as: "y=x^2"
The app then takes the formula after the starting character(s) opens the calculator app
It then goes to the graphing calculator and puts that into a function in the equation box
The calculator does its usual thing and graphs out the equation
Supporting information
This uses the "PowerToys Run" feature and the builtin Microsoft Calculator's Graphing Calculator
