function write(array: Uint8Array): void
function write(array: number[]): void
function write(array: any) {
}

let array: number[]|Uint8Array;
write(array);
//    ~~~~~
// Argument of type 'Uint8Array | number[]' is not assignable to parameter of type 'number[]'. Type 'Uint8Array' is not assignable to type 'number[]'.

write(<number[]>array); // no error
write(<Uint8Array>array); // no error
