npm reports a v3.7.2 was just pushed. This looks untintentional and possibly suspicious.
Can a team member confirm its legitimacy or pull it?

It's valid. See #33122 (version 3.6.2). The reason:

Why do TypeScript npm versions start at e.g. 3.6.2, not 3.6.0?

We release Beta and RC versions of the VS SDK, and these SDKs version numbers a) match the npm version and b) don't support prerelease versions. So 3.6.0 was SDK Beta, 3.6.1 RC, 3.6.2 = final

Now you know!

Thanks, that issue matches what I have seen here exactly. so it looks valid then.

Still, it would be nice to have a git tag first..
