Windows Version

10.0.22635.2771

WSL Version

2.0.9

Are you using WSL 1 or WSL 2?

  • WSL 2
  • WSL 1

Kernel Version

5.15.133.1-microsoft-standard-WSL2

Distro Version

Ubuntu 20.04

Other Software

No response

Repro Steps

ping google.com

Expected Behavior

I am expecting to see a successful ping

Actual Behavior

ping: google.com: Temporary failure in name resolution

If I am in NAT mode everything works, but the VPN is super broken and my previous workarounds no longer work with 2.0.9. I do not have HyperV installed

I don't see network anywhere. Maybe you wanted networkingMode?

I am having the same issue - if I enable networkingMode=mirrored I can do DNS (probably because I turned on the dnsTunneling) but cannot connect/ping any IP except my PC's own IP

Please follow the networking diagnostic script. https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#collect-wsl-logs-for-networking-issues

It should create a folder like [WslNetworkingLogs-date_ver.zip]

As a workaround I disabled systemd-networkd with sudo systemctl mask systemd-networkd.
