Describe the solution you'd like
I struggle to know where to file / where to look up Xamarin.UITest bugs
Is there any reason this code isnt open sourced like all other microsoft projects?

Describe alternatives you've considered
a label in this github to sperate ui test bugs so they can be searched better

even better than that: open source the code

Hey @JKennedy24, thanks for reaching out! @King-of-Spades or @Oddj0b would you mind sharing more about this?

@amchew I need to defer to @Oddj0b on this question.

I have commented on making Xamarin.UITest open source here: #327
TL.DR: We're trying to find a setup that works for everybody.

To answer your question I would contact our support in App Center and they will escalate if it is an issue.

Thanks @Oddj0b, so to clarify, if I have an issue with Xamarin.UITest I should report it to app center support?

The only issue I have with this method is:

  1. its usually helpful to try to see if anyone else has reported the bug first before explaining / building sample apps for support
  2. I'm not sure if app center support can attach sample projects

@JKennedy24
For item #2, the support chat can accept attachments, though usually not very big ones. The best alternatives are usually to link to a repo, if possible; or provide a filesharing link.

Also, I personally maintain some samples here, including Xamarin.UITest specific samples: https://github.com/King-of-Spades/AppCenter-Samples

If you reproduce an issue in one of the samples in that repo, odds are really good that we can isolate it; because I wrote & maintain those samples and know them like the back of my hand*

*(Huh, was that mole always there...?)

I will go with starting a thread with support through the app center page.

Although I don't think it's a great solution, I personally would be much more inclined to file the bugs here and add a tag/Label to the bugs to say they are UITest dll related.

I think other people would probably be more inclined to file them here too if they knew this was the designated area, at the moment I'd imagine there are a lot of developers working around issues because they have no idea where to report them or can't be arsed to speak to an app center support person who isn't going to be specialized in Xamain.UItest.dll

In addition I can also see other developers downvoting the suggestion to report it to app center support so I am 100% sure there are more developers who just can't be arsed to report it to appcenter support and would much rather fill in a github issue

Will it die?
Why not open source at this point?

Where to report a bug?

app.Screenshot("Onboarding_page"), is Onboarding_page supposed to be part of the image name? mine is always coming as screenshot-1.png so it is overriding it over and over again (Xamarin.UITest, Version=3.2.2.0)
