I would expect the advertised 24-bit colors to appear, but as a matter of fact, nothing appears. When I use a neighbouring script from tmux called 256colors.pl, I can at least get an output.
I commented some parts of the prompt setup in my .bashrc and also ran infocmp as described in a similar issue, but I cannot really tell if it shows something helpful:
