"RESOURCES" and  "ACCOUNTS & TENANTS" views keep "Waiting for Azure sign-in..." status after clicking the "Cancel" button during the second account sign-in process #989

OS: Mac (M1 Pro)/Linux
Build Version: v0.10.0
Regression: Not a regression

Repro Steps:

  1. Set "Microsoft-authentication: Implementation" to "msal" in "Settings" page.
    Image
  2. Make sure logged into 1 Microsoft account.
  3. F1 -> Select "Azure: Sign in" -> Click the "Allow" button -> Select "Sign in to another account" to open the browser.
  4. Return to VS Code -> Click the "Cancel" button -> Select "Cancel" to cancel sign-in.

  5. Check whether "RESOURCES" and "ACCOUNTS & TENANTS" views show well.

Expect:
"RESOURCES" and "ACCOUNTS & TENANTS" views show well.

Actual:
"RESOURCES" and "ACCOUNTS & TENANTS" views keep "Waiting for Azure sign-in..." status.

More Info:

  1. This issue does not reproduce if setting "Microsoft-authentication: Implementation" to "classic" in "Settings" page.
  2. Reload Window can resolve this issue.

When you press cancel does an error pop up after? Normally an error such as this should pop up: Image

@motm32 Hi Megan, an "Canceled" error pops up after pressing "cancel" button, but only in the case of this issue, "RESOURCES" and "ACCOUNTS & TENANTS" views keep "Waiting for Azure sign-in..." status, the GIF is as follows:
