Issue Type: Feature Request

On Windows, when there is an update available, it is downloaded and installed automatically.

On Ubuntu, I just get a link to the website and have to install it manually.

VS Code version: Code 1.68.1 (30d9c6c, 2022-06-15T02:58:26.441Z)
OS version: Linux x64 5.15.0-41-generic
Restricted Mode: No

Thanks for creating this issue! It looks like you may be using an old version of VS Code, the latest stable release is 1.70.1. Please try upgrading to the latest version and checking whether this issue remains.
