A new setting explorer.sortOrder was added with many options to control the explorer sorting. Verify the sorting settings make sense to you and work properly:

• filesFirst: files are sorted before folders, sort order otherwise same as default
• mixed: files and folders are not sorted separately
• modified: files and folders are sorted separately by last modified and the sorting updates based on file change
• type: files and folders are sorted separately by file type
