An update on this project #2099

Would you be willing to continue work on it if I sponsored for $100 per month? |
"Stable with the existing set of features" is a phrase that I wish I heard more often. |
It could be a great browser for someone to fork and develop new ideas with. Min's story isn't over yet! Anyway. Thank you for raising the bar. |
I've got a private fork of the browser and am working on:
I will release my fork once I'm happy with its development and non-bugginess. Source code will be provided with binaries |
Sorry for the lack of updates here, but I think I'll start to have more time again in the near future, so I plan to start working on this a bit more again. The architectural changes for multi-window support are basically done and I've been slowly working out the bugs in it (branch); I think it will be complete in the very near future (I'll go ahead and open a PR in case anyone wants to review it). After that, I'm not sure what exactly I want to work on next; I'm still thinking about which changes would be most impactful. @du82 Do you want to discuss your translation changes somewhere? I was thinking about dropping support for the current built-in translation feature, because usage of it is almost zero, but if you've come up with a better version that could be very nice to integrate. |
I can open a new issue to discuss it if you want, or we can talk on Matrix |
Can you make an issue or use the discord (link in readme)? |
I'll make an issue, I will not make a discord account because its proprietary |
Hi everyone, I wanted to give an update on where this project is at:
I still plan to maintain Min – I'll continue fixing bugs, reviewing PRs, and updating to newer versions of Chromium – but for the forseeable future, I don't expect to spend much time on continuing to add new features. There may occasionally be exceptions to this, such as multi-window support, which I hope to finish sometime soon, but largely my goal is for Min to remain stable with the existing set of features.
If anyone has questions, please let me know!
