@davidkelliott @SimonPPledger - this is something I could look into as I'm familiar with the mechanics of X11 and SSM. So let me know if that's ok.

Further to this, it looks like it's quite possible to forward X11 over SSH through SSM - aws/session-manager-plugin#66
