It looks like if an older version of wsltty is running at the time of installation, the installation of the new version will fail, but that process concludes with the dialog box saying the installation was successful.
I should have grabbed a screencap before closing my old session and upgrading, sorry.

I don't know how to manipulate the final dialog box from the install.bat script.
But maybe the .bat will be replaced by a dash-based installation script anyway (to solve the space in username issues) and that might help.
