Filter Folder #10767
Comments
Duplicate of #5575 |
Do i have any hope that this feature comes in the future. In Virtual DJ i had about 100 filters for fast access to my huge database and genres. |
The issue is that its technically more challenging that it might seem. The filtering mechanism relies on the database for speed. If you don't have tracks in your database (which is the point of the "Computer" view), then you can't run the filtering queries on them. So unless you start working on it yourself or find someone that does it, don't expect any enthusiasm from a mixxx dev to start working on it by themselves. |
But the first steps makes Mixxx since 2.4: Saved search operations that would execute by clicking can't be the big challenge. The Menu on the context menu of Mixxx still exists. If that menu would be moved to the left and would be editable with more and unlimited search queries, that would be all. I would come as alpha tester if someone makes it. |
Let me resolve the confusion: And indeed, from the user perspective 'Smart Crates' seems to be Just ™️ another way to access the saved queries. If anyone has new aspects to be added, let's please continue in #5575 |

Thats no bug - thats one of my wishes for a new feature:
A filter folder is a virtual entry for a search query for songs - a synthax / combined commands from here:
https://manual.mixxx.org/2.4/en/chapters/library.html#using-search-operators
If individual search queries can created it would be very helpful.
A filter folder consists of name and command
