Can we consider integrating guard here? What is the current way you run test cases on both ends?

Since this isn't an active project I don't really care either way. If you want to submit a PR I'd probably merge it though.

In a case like this (i.e. SPA being part of a larger Rails app) I usually just go with rspec, utilizing feature specs with a capybara javascript driver to test front end features.
