[Feature Request] Custom Conversation Categories

Howdy. I'm a huge fan of QKSMS - been using it for years and don't plan on stopping anytime soon!

Something I've really been looking for in SMS messaging is the ability to categorize conversations by user-chosen categories. It would be great to select all my conversations with family members and drop them into a "family" folder, my friend conversations into a "friends" folder, etc. On top of that, it would be amazing if these folders were collapsible and reorder-able.

I'm not sure what others would think about this feature, but I'd imagine it would be helpful to lots of people with a long list of different conversations. I often will scroll through the entire conversation list searching for a specific one, and many times will give up the search and manually set up a new conversation with all the people I want included in the MMS chat.

What does everyone think about a feature like this? Having this in QKSMS would be a huge QOL improvement!

Hi, I like the idea of folder (one conversation in only one folder).
The tag system is nice too (one conversation can have multiple tag).

I could very nice for advanced users 👍

I liked this feature from SMS Organizer from Microsoft Garage. They had categories for

• personal
• transactions
• announcements
• starred

It was very helpful to automatically move out of the way the sms marketing text received, one time passwords, and receipts into a place that didn't interfere with the list of conversations that involved actual people.

Custom folders or tags would be even better! That way grouping could be done even more on a granular level that is not dictated by the developer.

I'd imagine then the initial page would have the option to filter based on what folder or tag you are looking for, perhaps like k-9 mail. Then in the flyout menu have the folders or tags to select without using some toast in a list.
