Would be helpful for people to understand in order to help maintain a repository.

I do this rarely, and honestly when I do I use the UI provided by Github/Gitlab/Bitbucket. My goal with git immersion was to provide a foundation of day-to-day operations for all new devs and I don't see remote pruning falling into that category. Is it something we can add somewhere else?
