I currently use old monica to remind me of birthdays (with CalDAV sync), and it works very well !

I dislike Google Agenda, i don't know why, but it's not for me.
Their widgets on the other hand are good for displaying.

I was thinking that since Monica is a personal CRM and in general more of a life organizer (for me, atleast) it would be great to be able to manage upcoming events.
For example, i'd like to input my upcoming meetings, appointments, etc.

If CalDAV sync makes it to this version which I'm pretty sure it will, I think it'd really be a nice pairing !

This would allow me to manage my appointments from my computer and centralize my personal life all into monica, which I'd really like.

Now, currently it's already semi-implemented in the form of reminders.
Some issues with reminders though :

  • They are contact-based, which means you can't set one for someone you don't "value" enough to put the effort to input them into your vault (e.g doctor, job interviewer, etc).
  • They do not accept hours, which is crucial for appointments.
  • They don't have a more generalized UI where you can manage your agenda as a whole.
  • They don't support week and month-based recurring (for example, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist every X of the month, etc).

Now, thanks for the great work, Monica really made life easier for me and I would never get rid of it !
Sorry for the long issue, but I like to do those as they describe precisely what I'm after.
