Feature request: a trigger mode for Cycles that replaces the gates with triggers.

Or perhaps a gate length per knob param, which would get me my trigger at the shortest end and also give a variety of expressive note lengths. If I were in “free pony” territory I would also have that gate length addressable via teletype i2c so I could get even more gesturally expressive with it.
