Currently, MOTIS provides basic support for proxy servers using the ris.http_proxy config option. However, this works only for HTTP and not for HTTPS requests. In order for HTTPS connections to work, it would be necessary to use the HTTP CONNECT method instead. As most GTFS-RT APIs require HTTPS, the GTFS-RT updates are practically unusable if you need to use MOTIS behind a company proxy server.

I already added the CONNECT method in our own net library last week: motis-project/net@e9996f1#diff-b2edab7f5f2010b88a6a4673621ba98022741615c275f8742c52623fcf1304c2R18

However, I can't promise, I'll find the time to implement the CONNECT method in MOTIS soon.
