A note is wrongly redisplayed after reopening the sidebar if its content is cut and you return to the list view #1313

[Affected versions]:

  • Firefox 61.0.1 and above

[Affected Platforms]:

  • All Windows
  • All Linux
  • All Mac

[Prerequisites]:

  • Have a new Firefox profile with the latest version of the "Firefox Notes" add-on (4.3.0dev), custom built on 26.07.2018, installed.
  • You are logged into "Firefox Notes".

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open the browser with the profile from prerequisites and click the "New Note" button.
  2. Write some text and select it.
  3. Press the "Ctrl"+"X" keys and go back to the list view.
  4. Close and reopen the sidebar.
  5. Observe the "Notes" sidebar.

[Expected result]:

  • There are no notes displayed in the sidebar.

[Actual result]:

  • The Note from step 2 is displayed.

[Notes]:

  • A side effect of this issue is that when a user has the "Notes Storage Full" message and they follow the STR, the message will be displayed indefinitely.
  • This issue is not reproducible if the text is cut using the context menu option.
