As soon as I switch my tx sender tool to use https://wallet-api.elrond.com as the endpoint a lot of explorer functionality (displaying blocks, viewing specific shard blocks, the validator list etc.) stops working.

Unable to load blocks

Unable to load validators

Obviously this is not a massive issue since the blockchain itself doesn't shut down - but it could appear as if something's wrong with the actual blockchain.

The explorer is also typically a very central and focal point for most people interacting with a blockchain - so obviously it must be very resilient.

I'm guessing this is way down the prioritization list for Mainnet - but I think it shouldn't be neglected for all too long.

I mentioned some ideas for scaling the explorer and the API at the bottom of this issue: #872
