Style menus not working

I can't change the style of my cosmetics. I can open the style menu, but when I click on the arrow to open the drop menu of styles nothing opens.

I'm able to open the dropdown menu, but the preview in the style select dialog often doesn't work (it's partially broken on the default HUD as well). The style still changes after selecting the OK button.

The file that controls the style select dialog is comboboxbackpackoverlaydialog.res in resource\ui\econ, but it's mostly default other than color, border, and button size changes. Removing the file doesn't work either, so unfortunately I'm unable to find a fix for the moment.
