Is it possible to select custom name for the default trailers folder , i mean i want to change name of the trailers folder to backdrops , because jellyfin uses backdrops as the name is it possible?

App creates a folder named Trailers in the media folder if enabled. There is no option to change this!

AFAIK, Jellyfin detects the trailers:

  • if placed in the media folder with -trailer.ext in it's name
  • if placed in the media folder inside a folder named Trailers

I am not sure why you want to place them in a folder named backdrops?!

Jellyfin documentation confirms these!

Movie Extras

Movie extras can include deleted scenes, interviews, and other various things that you would want to include alongside your movie. Jellyfin supports several different methods of adding these files.

Extras Folders

One of the cleanest ways of adding extras is to place them in subfolders within your movie folder.
Supported folder types are:

  • behind the scenes
  • deleted scenes
  • interviews
  • scenes
  • samples
  • shorts
  • featurettes
  • clips
  • other - Generic catch all for extras of an unknown type.
  • extras - Generic catch all for extras of an unknown type.
  • trailers

File Name

Some types of extras support a special option if you only have a single of that type. These options are to name the filename a specific word when stored in the same folder as the movie.

Supported filenames are:

  • trailer
  • sample
  • theme - Audio file of the theme song

Shows also follow similar patterns: Jellyfin Shows Docs

The reason I want the folder to be named backdrops because if its named backdrops jellyfin uses that video/trailer to be used as theme video , if the video isnt in the folder named backdrops jellyfin doesn’t detect the video as theme video.
You can enable theme videos in jellyfin by going to profile…. Display … and enable theme videos …
