Update Maintainer's Notes (make sure to do this before 2.1.0 release):

  • Release notes: move breaking changes and deprecations to the top
  • Zenodo: add a dot point about adding metadata afterwards to include intro paragraph and links
  • If introduced: add a section about updating the What’s New date and link on the README prior to releases

I am happy to do this, I just wanted to create an issue for tracking purposes.
