As it stands, sq currently always uses the embedded SQLite DB for scratch purposes. It should be possible to specify an alternative database to use. For example:

> sq scratch
Using embedded scratch DB

> sq scratch @myotherdb
Using @myotherdb

>sq scratch
Using @myotherdb
