Please don't use this issue to discuss dramas and decisions of other repository maintainers. This issue is only intended for posting links to new dramas, possibly with short summaries, to make people aware of them. Discussing multiple dramas on the same thread is impractical as the thread can grow long very fast. I will be removing or hiding off-topic comments to keep thread at reasonable size. |

Nationalists made this russian dude go somewhat overboard 🌚 |
As I understood, it started from here

HACK vs F# pipeline operator proposalAlthough it's been more than 3 years ago I think also the TC39 decision to move the HACK proposal of the pipeline operator to stage 2, should not be missing from this list. It caused quite a stir and some people are still resentful. What happened?Seemingly out of the blue on the 9th of September 2021, someone started closing and locking dozens of issues which were discussing pros and cons of different forms of the pipeline operator proposal, with the message Closing this issue, as the proposal has advanced to stage 2 with Hack-style syntax.. This caused quite a stir because lots of people liked the F# proposal. Multiple issues sprung up with long heated threads. Eventually measures were put in place that blocked issues for a while when they became too heated. A few examples of heated locked threads: Added value of hack-style proposal against temporary variables Effect of Hack proposal on code readability Viability of using |: as the operator for Hack-style Some other long threads are still open though. Frustrations of people looking forward to tacit syntax Impact of Hack pipes on the JS functional-programming ecosystem |
