As admin

  • sharing -> set default expiry after 2 days
  • enforce it
  • share a file a.txt via link

Get http://localhost/nc14/ocs/v2.php/apps/files_sharing/api/v1/shares
with path pointing to a.txt and see

<expiration/>

There should be the date, so that clients can display it.
If it is enforced, it will be shown, but not editable in client.

Closing.
This was somekind of race condition. I enabled the setting, so old links are not affected, but newer are showing the date.

GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are #7031 (Possible password exposing bug), #6673 (Issue because enforcing security header), #11547 (Enforce Password On All Share Methods), #7983 (Provisioning API: expose what can be edited), and #10644 (Link sharing broken with enforced password protection).
