CI: Add test app for integration checks #1910

Opened as a result of #1902. This only only surfaced when using the distributed packages from NPM. We run our suite of unit tests against source, unit and E2E tests against the example app. We don't currently run any tests using the built packages from source.

Adding a small integration app with some tests could guard against this happening in the future.
