Switch to Java 11?

I intend to start working on what I think should be 7.0 with at least the change to drop Java 8 and use Java 11.

Would that impact you?

If it would help with Yauaa development feel free to upgrade to 11 as a minimal supported version.

Given this discussion, I get the impression that the current libraries aren't compatible with (ahem, looks awkwardly askance) Java 6. Is that correct? I'm working with a legacy app that can't be easily updated to the current decade and I'm looking for this or a similar Java library that works with Java 6. Any comment or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.

So this library still supports Java 8. Java 6 I won't do.
So I see two options for you right now:

1. Deploy a service that runs this library on a modern version of java and call it remote.
2. Try if you can down port it to Java 6 from the sources for yourself. I do not expect this to be successful unless you can find java 6 compatible variants for all the dependencies too.

It appears at the moment that AWS is still using java 8 runtimes resulting in runtime errors for us with version mismatch.

Caused by: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/github/benmanes/caffeine/cache/Caffeine has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0
