Below we present an overview of the labels in COCO-Stuff, as well as their indices and descriptions. We also include a preview image for each class that shows 4 example images with regions (i.e. connected components in the label map - we do not have instance annotations for stuff classes) of the particular class. Note that we only provide descriptions for stuff labels (92-182). Furthermore, 11 classes have been removed from COCO and therefore lack a preview image.
Note that despite our best efforts to make labels unambiguous, crowd-sourced annotations are never free of errors. In particular, the label 'clothes' is often assigned to incompletely annotated persons (which it should not). Furthermore, the difference between 'cupboard' and 'cabinet', 'fog' and 'sky-clouds' and 'cage' and 'fence' is not always clear from the annotations.
