Notes

The agenda comes from issues labelled with tsc-agenda across all of the repositories in the nodejs org. Please label any additional issues that should be on the agenda before the meeting starts.

Joining the meeting

Uberconference; participants should have the link & numbers, contact me if you don't.

Public participation

We stream our conference call straight to YouTube so anyone can listen to it live, it should start playing at https://www.youtube.com/c/nodejs+foundation/live when we turn it on. There's usually a short cat-herding time at the start of the meeting and then occasionally we have some quick private business to attend to before we can start recording & streaming. So be patient and it should show up.

Many of us will be on IRC in #node-dev on Freenode if you'd like to interact, we have a Q/A session scheduled at the end of the meeting if you'd like us to discuss anything in particular. @nodejs/collaborators in particular if there's anything you need from the TSC that's not worth putting on as a separate agenda item, this is a good place for it.

We had a meeting today about the Node.js Github bot (available on the YouTube channel if interested). We discussed nodejs/github-bot#66 which adds docs to the repo as needed for a codebase entering the GitHub org.

There's not much to them- so please take a look and hopefully discuss/approve on the call tomorrow if time allows.

There are 2 topics that came from the PR that I'd like the TSC to address and they apply to anything entering the GitHub org:

  • Ownership/Governance
  • Licensing

Also, @Fishrock123 added the tsc-agenda label to nodejs/github-bot#72 which requests a discussion about giving the bot elevated permission(s).

I'm traveling so I probably won't be able to attend. Next time!

EDIT: Apropos #129 (comment) - @rvagg, you get my vote.

fwiw I don't have an update on roll-up reporting and there hasn't been any movement on "defining node core" so I doubt we'll be spending much time on those during this meeting. We're in a bit of a rut at the moment that I hope we can push out of within the next month and make some proper progress on this organisational stuff. I know a few of us are trying hard to re-focus our efforts on these higher-level topics now rather than getting pulled too deep into the weeds of technical work and that's what it's going to take to make real progress!
