We've been discussing further expansion of the TC to get more diversity in POV and backgrounds. We've identified a number of candidates, mainly based on amount and quality of contributions and assessment of the technical depth they would bring to the TC but it won't be a super-fast process. Someone (perhaps me) will be reaching out to people over the coming weeks to gauge interest and we can move on from there. Please be patient if you think you should be considered, also feel free to contact TC members directly if you'd like to nominate someone or put yourself up for consideration, but again, be patient and aware that there is a lot to consider when looking at someone's suitability for TC membership.

I think the model of having people come on to the TC meetings in "observer" status first and then moving to full voting rights is a good one and we may follow that as we bring more people on.

Just to be clear, are nominations for collaborators only?

I think our governance docs states that this is the progression -- but I think we've also been a bit slack on moving people in to collaborator status too so if anyone feels that their contribution hasn't been recognised with collaboratorship then please contact a TC member to discuss.

Closing out for a future thread with new nominations, we should probably work also this out with the combined TSC and whatnot. :)
