Markdown style formatting for chat response?

Curious if a markdown style syntax for words generated by the chatbot is being worked on or is on the roadmap, because I didn't see anything markdown related on there.
Basically, when the response has words enclosed in double asterisks like **ignore bold text**, it should style it as bold text. Similarly, if there is a single * it should create a bullet point. As of 2.8.0, it does not do this.
I can work on this if pointed to the right files which handles the text response styling.

Check out v3.0.0 because it does Markdown styling.

There were some attempts but also issues with it in the past, so it wasn't very feasible.
