Provide validation layers

The modular architecture of the library should make it easy to provide validation layers checking if the API is being used correctly. This would be a very nice thing to have, and an advantage over other libraries. I could also help write good quality documentation.

Why is it still not done?

We did not reach 1.0 yet, and things could change (although it's unlikely at this stage).
