DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE

I'm in favor of having auto-update activated by default.

Since it could apply to multiple components across the page my idea is to have one overarching solution. To avoid it being intrusive we would place it in the header (which is sticky, so it always stays within the viewport).

FE question; can we automatically revert to enabling the auto-update when the user ends their session?
